Azanta Thakur

Azanta Thakur is an Administrative Coordinator and Project Manager for the Boston Green Ribbon Commission (GRC), a group of business, philanthropic, and civic leaders who work to accelerate Boston toward a climate safe, carbon free, and equitable future. Azanta joined the GRC from the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review, where she worked as an event planner.

Azanta has been deeply engaged in climate work in Boston since graduating from Boston University in 2020 and brings a variety of administrative, management, and organizational skills to her role at GRC, including event planning, social media management, communications and marketing, and diversity and justice. In addition to her role at the GRC, Azanta runs her own social media accounts and BookTalk, Inc., a nonprofit focused on literacy for disadvantaged and underserved communities via virtual events and outreach.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Environmental Analysis and Policy from Boston University and is currently pursuing her master’s in Public Health from the University of South Florida. In her free time, Azanta loves trying new recipes and finding new stories to consume.
