Azanta Thakur

Azanta Thakur is the GRC’s Administrative Coordinator and Project Manager. She graduated from Boston University with degrees in Health Science and Environmental Analysis and Policy and has a Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Florida. As a board-certified public health professional, Azanta specialized in the intersection of climate change and public health.

With a robust background in climate health, Azanta focuses on mitigating the impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations in both her academic and professional work. Her research has involved studying the refugee health outcomes amidst the impacts of climate change, innovative tech solutions for food justice, and more. Her passion for integrating climate science with public health initiatives drives her commitment to creating sustainable solutions for healthier communities. At the GRC, she streamlines administrative processes, supports strategic projects, and handles day-to-day operations towards the mission of a climate safe, carbon free, and equitable future for Bostonians.

In addition to her role at the GRC, Azanta is a content creator on social media platforms promoting diverse voices in literature and reviewing books. She works with publishing houses and bestselling authors to market to young audiences and encourage reading. In her free time, she loves trying new recipes.
