Amy Longsworth is Executive Director of the Boston Green Ribbon Commission (GRC), an influential group of business, philanthropic, and civic leaders that support the implementation of Boston’s Climate Action Plan (CAP). Reflecting GRC’s mission to accelerate Boston toward a climate safe, carbon free, and equitable future, Amy structures and executes strategies to help achieve the city’s decarbonization and climate resiliency goals, while also advancing climate justice. Under Amy’s leadership, the GRC team has further expanded upon its robust civic leadership network of more than 80 enterprises, including City government, to convene leaders, incubate ideas, produce information, hold conferences and meetings, design and help fund research, and manage programs to advance climate action.
As an accomplished convenor, facilitator, and activator in the fight against climate change, Amy brings more than 25 years of experience helping corporate senior leadership teams shape their sustainability and business strategies to minimize risk and grow opportunities. Prior to her work at the GRC, she served as a Managing Director in the Sustainable Business Solutions practice at PwC, which she joined in 2012 through the acquisition of Viridis Strategy Group, a sustainability-focused management consulting firm, where she was a founding partner. Previous roles include ten years developing the corporate marketing function at The Nature Conservancy, where she was Vice President, Corporate Programs, as well as numerous environmentally- related consulting projects and board service.
Amy holds a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. Amy serves on the Board of Governors for the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, MA. A native of Massachusetts, she enjoys the natural beauty, history, and recreation that New England has to offer; she is an avid reader, writer, cook, and skier, and she has a love for small boats. She is also a proud parent to two grown children, who are also active and adventurous as a surfer and a roller skater.
