This May, members from Boston’s cultural institutions, commercial real estate community, and nonprofit sectors celebrated the completion of a nine-month journey towards institutional climate resilience. The participants in the Green Ribbon Commission’s 2024/2025 Collaborative Climate Action Planning (CCAP) cohort celebrated their graduation from the program in a ceremony complete with awards and a triumphant ribbon cutting.
This year’s participants included Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, Commonwealth Land Trust, The Community Builders, Massachusetts Convention and Conference Center, MassCEC Cohorts, and the Trustees of Reservations.
All of these institutions were brought together under one goal: develop a practical, actionable climate action plan for their institution.

This year’s graduation concluded the fourth cohort of the GRC’s CCAP program, designed to foster a peer-learning community that develops a climate action plan framework – an essential roadmap to reduce an organization’s emissions and approach net zero.
With Boston’s evolving climate regulations, including stricter Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO) compliance in 2025, the CCAP program is more important than ever for institutions seeking a peer learning community in which to comfortably expand and deepen education around mitigation, resiliency, and climate justice work.
